I believe together South Africa can offer an incredible diversity of culutral, natural and intellectual attractions unmatched in the world!
The Meerkat Magic Project is a philosophy developed through over eleven years of behavioural wildlife observation. I have learned to be introspective and the wild meerkats and other incredible creatures that I have connected with have tought me the value of standing together as a unified invincible team!
We can change reality to whatever we want it to be!
UNITY IS STRENGTH!

The nickname, The Meerkat Man has been given to me (Grant M. Mc Ilrath) since I began working with Wild and Free meerkats / suricates full time in the wilderness since 1993 and ongoing as a professional research biologist and nature conservationist. I often act as an interpreter of the over thirty four recorded sounds that I have heard meerkats / suricates make over the years, and their dozens of fascinating behaviours.

I wish to allow others to experience this "behind the scenes" secretive research perspective on nature. I do not believe that only film crews, and academics in the research field should be the only poeple to enjoy observing Wild meerkats / suricates- this is why The Meerkat Magic Conservation Project is open to the public from around the world!

I (Grant M. Mc Ilrath - A.K.A - The Meerkat Man) was born on 03 March 1973.
I have grown up loving nature in its entirety. This is largely due to my parents. I spent many years studying how to solve interpretative problems at The Estelle Mc Ilrath Art School. Through this special art training awareness an appreciation of the natural world was instilled within me when I was still a child.
I was taught how to interpret what I saw in an artistic manner, how to not just look, but to see the intricacy of life from the smallest to the greatest. I learned how to question everything and to seek the answers. This helped lay the basis for my analytical training for research and observations, and interpretation of wildlife behaviour and cognition.
